About Us
LincOn.com was founded in 1994 as a Web service called BroerNet. The goal of BroerNet was simply to make finding information on the Internet easier for users. That service became a full fledged commercial site in 1997 called Edison!. We changed names in 1998 to LincOn.com. Our goal these many years later is still to help people find information and resources on the Internet. We have millions of users who use our services to find Web pages, news & weather information, stock information, travel information and many other types of information. We still maintain the largest collection of search utilities on the Internet and if you can't find it here, you can always email us to find an answer to your question.
Our History
January 17, 1997 - Edison! is launched with over 3,000 search utilities and graphical links to more than 5,000 hand-picked top Internet resources. Because of the intense graphical nature and large size of Edison! and slow modems at the time, Edison! is downloadable. Tens of thousands of people download the software and the service is hailed by many publications at the time.
August 1998 - Edison! is renamed LincOn.com & begins the launch of many new services.
February 2000 - A new interface is launched with the goal of improving navigation and better helping users find the information they are looking for.
August 2005 - LincOn.com launches another revolutionary interface. With tens of thousands of resources and concise, one of a kind resources, LincOn.com continues to be a leader in helping people find information on the Internet.
January 2009 - LincOn.com celebrates it's 15th year online with brand new services and an update to many existing services.
